Cultus Lake – Chilliwack, 14km
Going out of Cultus Lake we rode along Chilliwack River Road into Chilliwack. Easy downhill and for most of the time the road had a good shoulder. Some parts of it were too narrow, but that didn’t last too long.
Fun schooling around the world

Fort Langley – Abbotsford, 38km
A day marked by two short but very steep hills where we had to push our bikes up. Otherwise, we rode mostly on very quiet and scenic roads, except for a section of about 2km where the Trans-Canada Great Trail took us (again) on a loose gravel path that was quite difficult and slow to ride with our road bikes.
Coquitlam – Fort Langley, 38km
We rode the Great Trail going out of Coquitlam but we found it a bit rough for our road bikes (especially the kids’). The part along the Pitt River and along the Fraser River to the Golden Ears bridge was very beautiful and the gravel trail in excellent condition. After the Golden Ears bridge we rode mostly on paved roads (bike shoulders) into Fort Langley.
Vancouver – Coquitlam, 37 km
We rode out of Vancouver on the Union-Adanac streets that are dedicated for bikes. Easy ride, with a few small hills. At Lakewood Drive, we took the Trans-Canada Great Trail that follows the waterfront. Then, for the last bit, as it was getting late and the kids were a little tired, we took the SkyTrain from Brentwood Station to Coquitlam Centre. So we ended up biking for about 22 km.
Around Vancouver, 25 km
Today we biked around the Seawall path in Vancouver, through downtown and around the Stanley Park. Very scenic, beautiful ride with lots of opportunities to stop for eating, exploring the park, etc.
Victoria – Swartz Bay, 42 km
Lochside Trail
Mostly paved trail but some parts with gravel, very nice and flat. There is a coffee house, a farm market and a bakery along the trail, among other rest areas to get your water bottle filled up.
At the end of the trail we hopped onto the ferry to Vancouver.
Sooke – Victoria, 48 km
Same trail as we did on June 24th: part paved road, part gravel; in the city of Victoria we biked on the streets; a little hilly but nothing like when we arrived into Sooke.
Victoria – Sooke, 48.8 km
Via Galloping Goose Trail: first 14 km paved dedicated trail, then gravel trail until Sooke; final 4 km on Town roads and roadside bike paths.
Deep Cove – Victoria, 43 km
Via Lochside Dr and Galloping Goose Trail
Dedicated trail and some roadside bike trail.
Sidney – Deep Cove, 7 km
Trail type: Paved road
